How can I send payments in IM on Pay?

Pay lets you send crypto to friends quickly, securely, and with zero fees, all on our X Layer network. Payments are even more seamless with our instant messaging (IM) feature.

For group chats, you can send crypto using gifts instead.

Step 1: Start a chat with a friend

  • Open the Chat page in Pay

  • Tap the plus (+) icon at the top right corner

  • Select New chat

  • Choose a friend to start a chat with — you can add them by their phone number, or sync your phone contacts to see who's already on OKX

Step 2: Send crypto using Pay

Once your chat is set up, sending crypto is easy:

  • In the chat, tap the plus (+) icon at the bottom right

  • Select Pay

  • Set the amount and currency you’d like to pay with

  • Tap Pay to complete the transfer

Your friend will need to accept the payment before it expires — otherwise, it’ll be returned to you.
